Al Jarreau
Charismatic vocalist Al Jarreau is the only singer to win Grammies in the R&B, pop and jazz categories. The African American has a unique style that one critic described as “breaking down the boundaries between verbal and musical expression, and in doing so (taking) jazz to the brink of a new language”. But Jarreau has also proven to be an insatiable explorer of vocal styles that travel from Brazilian samba to South African Zulu music. |
